Where can I start my own blog, but restrict readers to people I approve?

I want to start a personal blog, but given the sensitive and personal info, I want to restrict it to friends and family that I approve. Ideally, they would request permission, I would approve/deny, and they sign in with a username/password. What blog sites will allow this?

    live journal has a private feature for friends only, and a personal feature for you only, but ideally if u dont want it public, dont put it on the web

    u can start in blogger itself
    it has option to restrict the blog to the persons u choose

    Use MySpace, but change your setting to private. I go through yahoo (blog linked below), but anyone can see my stuff.
