will changing a wordpress blog title affect SEO that much?

i have a wordpress blog installed on my webhost. i am planning to change my blog title but im afraid to negatively affect my SEO for it.

will changing the title reduce my number of hits?

JUST THE TITLE of the entire blog. not the address.

    As long as you also change the keywords associated with the focus of your blog, your SEO will be affected for the better, as search engines will “recommend” your blog in the results each time someone searches for the keywords associated with it.

    It will have a negative impact for short term traffic but for long term it will do more good than harm. But make sure just change the blog or post title not url.

    If you change the title for the keyword phrase you are trying to target then it will change for the better. Blog titles show up in search engine rank placement (SERP) beside the individual title for a single webpage.

    Changing the title of your blog will impact your SEO, for the better or the worse. So, make sure it is for the better :-)
    The title of your blog should contain your keywords. As long as you stick to that rule, or go towards that rule, you will not lose anything.

    Yes, changing the title will affect your position in search engine rankings but if you are making it more relevant and targeting more popular terms then it should be better in the long run, after a while you should start going up in search results again.

    Changing the title of your blog will affect Your search engine positioning. There are a couple key factors that you are going to want to evaluate when deciding on your new title.

    1) Search Volume – Does your new keyword phrase have a higher or lower search volume than your current blog title? Check sites like http://www.google.com/insights/search/ to help you find out.

    2) Competition – How much competition is there for the new phrase? Do a quick search on the big search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN) and look at how many results are returned. If there are more than 7,000,000 then it is an extremely competitive phrase and you will have a harder time ranking for that term.

    3) Relevance – Will your new term be more relevant to your target audience and be able to help you reach your goals? Or will your title just bring more traffic, but have a higher bounce rate because the content title isn’t consistent with the content.

    These are just a couple recommendations that I hope you consider before changing your blog title
